Quaint little Mexican American Restaurant on Route 66 that influenced “Flo’s Diner” in the movie Cars. It is right down the street from the Wigwam Motel which correlates to the “Cozy Cone” from the movie Cars as well.
The food was good but the service was outstanding. Extremely friendly staff that go out of their way to make you feel welcomed! Stanley the Founder of Radiator Springs was based on Joe and his wife Lizzie was based on Aggie in the movie Cars. Aggie passed away in 2012 but Joe loves to talk about their life together and their roles in the movie. The Diner has plenty of Cars memorabilia and a small gift shop. It was a very enjoyable experience in many ways, friendly service, good conversation, and good food, not much more you could ask for. The building is old and could use fixing up but it kind of added to the character, old but clean so don’t avoid stopping in. We also stopped at the Wigwam Motel and walked around took some pictures of the replicas of many Cars characters. I recommend combining both for all the Cars fans out there. It was a great start to a wonderful day. Just 26 minutes from the Petrified Forest National Park right off the highway, so if you are in the area be sure to stop by you will be glad you did! We stayed at the OK RV Park about 8 minutes away from the diner, a decent RV park for a good price.
