Palmer Pisle, Mile Marker #3
We met Palmer and his wife Sharon at a mission packing event at the GAIN Warehouse in Mount Joy, PA. He was the area manager in the section of the warehouse we were assigned to. It only took a few hours for us to discover that he also lives full time in his RV. It took about 5 minutes to discover that at 76 years old, Palmer is a non stop serving machine and has no intention of stopping any time soon.
After a difficult childhood and young adulthood, Palmer was introduced to Jesus. His life was radically changed when Josh McDowell, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, grabbed him by the shoulders and said, ” You need to come to Russia with me.”
That was his first exposure to missions, but most certainly not his last. From that moment on, he has embodied the word SERVANT. For the past 25 years, Palmer has served multiple mission organizations and deployments through Samaritans Purse, Campus Crusade for Christ and Global Aid International Network (GAiN).
He started Hope for a Future to bring clean water to those who are suffering. He has been to Uganda 14 times, with each trip bringing 250 Sawyer Water Filters packed tightly in his luggage. Together they have helped provide clean drinking water to thousands of people, schools and churches in Uganda. He is currently overseeing a house rebuild in Victoria, TX that was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. He is looking for assistance, so if you are in the area and want to serve, please reach out!! Food and lodging is provided!
When asked why he does what he does, tears welled up in his eyes and he said “I don’t do a lot of touchy feely stuff. This is my way to share the Love of Jesus.”
